Started working on the costume gallery

For some reason (maybe it’s the weather), I was inspired to get the costume gallery section started (see the “Costumes” link above, and on the sidebar).  I’ll be working on it here and there, adding new and old garments, as well as any other photos and information that I can find.  Some of the older garments I made before I had this website will take a little longer to get together.  At least I’ve made some progress!  I’m sure I will even make a few changes to the layout over time, ironing things out even smoother.

While searching the site or using the category option for the blog worked okay for a little while, it’s starting to get a little more difficult to find things.  I realized that there were a few people who wanted to see something specific, and it would have been easier to just tell them to go to a gallery.  Better to get the gallery started now before I’ve got even more to organize.

I just wanted to let everyone know in case they were wondering.  Best wishes, everyone!

I have way too many interests and hobbies, and continually cycle through them -- paying attention to some, while others wait for when I can get around to them again. My main interests are sewing and costuming (I enjoy historical clothing, such as 18th and 19th century, as well as fantasy costumes like elves and hopefully someday even dwarves), as well as getting back to art by drawing fan art of Thorin Oakenshield and Company.     Nice! I like the layout and it’s a nice way to have everything you’ve done all listed out. Good luck with it; looking forward to the finished product. 🙂

    Thanks so much! It was hard to decide. There are dress diaries that are far more detailed, but since I already have blog entries and difficulty regularly updating this website, I didn’t want to end up overwhelmed or spending too much time on here. Since I’m not an informative website like some of those with excellent dress diaries, I go from the point of view of “learning to sew and also learning to make historical costumes of varying accuracy levels… here’s kinda what I did” for those who are similar to me and would desperately love to do this sort of thing. It really helped me to friend people who do sew and gave me encouragement, so while I can’t necessarily tell someone *how* to do something, I hope they realize they should give it a try and work up to those garments they would love to make! 🙂

    I’m sure I’ll make more changes or additions to the costume gallery and information, but for now it’s nice to just get a basic layout going.
