My first 18th century cap

My first attempt at making an 18th century cap. I hope to try a few more versions down the line.

I’m still not sure if I’m happy with this cap.  It’s the second one I made — the first didn’t have enough room in the back for my bunned hair.  I would like to make some nicer caps down the line using the website’s instructions (link below) and nicer fabrics, but this one will hopefully work for wearing with a bergère hat.  I also need to attach combs or something to help keep the cap from falling off.  I’ll experiment when I have more time.

Patterns used:
– Instructions from “How to Make a Cap” website.

Fabrics used:
– White cotton for my first attempt.

Other materials used:
– White ribbon for drawstring.

Hand and machine sewing.
