About Cynthia Griffith

I have way too many interests and hobbies, and continually cycle through them -- paying attention to some, while others wait for when I can get around to them again. My main interests are sewing and costuming (I enjoy historical clothing, such as 18th and 19th century, as well as fantasy costumes like elves and hopefully someday even dwarves), as well as getting back to art by drawing fan art of Thorin Oakenshield and Company. My husband Christopher and I spend a lot of time together, enjoying the outdoors and shared hobbies such as juggling. This blog and website is my way to share what I'm up to with friends and family.

As I mentioned, I’m not going to go into server/name/specific details since I already have players I game with and am blogging about it for fun. Also, just to cut down on typing out names over and over, I’ve decided … Continue reading

The Sketch of Happiness

Okay, I know… that sounds cheesy. But bear with me… As you know, I go through these little moods (one lasted a very, very long time) and stop doing hobbies. Sometimes I get frustrated. Sometimes I do enjoy them. But … Continue reading

First Drawing of Fili the Dwarf

Hmmm, it seems even when I try to focus and keep working on something things always pop up! For instance, when I finished this drawing of Fili (finally, took me long enough — I should have that put on a … Continue reading

It’s always something, isn’t it? ;)

I seem to take a lot of breaks. Sometimes I’m just not in the mood to work on things (who doesn’t like cuddling on the couch with their spouse, working their way through a Netflix series, or doing something new … Continue reading

Roac the Raven pencil studies

I wanted to ease back into drawing since I’ve been ignoring it for a couple weeks and I feel a bit clumsy at the moment. I decided to go back and revisit Roac the Raven even though I did put … Continue reading

The Annoyance of Change

If you follow me online, whether it’s here or on any of the social media I use, you probably noticed I went a little quiet. Progress on sewing has already been paused for a while, but even drawing and sketching … Continue reading

Why I seem to be taking longer

I used to be very fast with art. One thing I swore (and this goes for most things I do now, whether it’s art or sewing) is to go for “quality over quantity.” I got way too burned out in … Continue reading
